What is a Travel eSIM?
A Travel eSIM is a digital SIM card that allows you to stay connected while traveling abroad without having to switch SIM cards and carriers. It allows you to use cellular data and make calls using a local carrier without having to pay international roaming fees or roaming charges.
How does a Travel eSIM work?
A Travel e-SIM works by downloading a digital esim data plan onto your mobile device or iphone that is preloaded with a data allowance from partner carriers in that country or region. You can then activate the esim by scanning a qr code we send.
What are the benefits of using a Travel eSIM?
The key benefits include avoiding expensive international roaming fees from your home carrier, the convenience of not having to find a physical sim card or swap it, being able to have multiple digital esims on one phone, and the flexibility to purchase the best value unlimited data or data plan for your travels on the go.
How do I activate my Travel eSIM?
Simply scan the qr code we email you after purchasing the esim data plan. This will automatically configure the esim settings and carrier profile on your iOS or Android device.
What types of data plans do you offer?
We partner with top esim providers and carriers globally to offer a wide range of prepaid data plans - from unlimited data for heavy data users to limited GBs for lighter browsing. Plan periods range from single day passes to monthly options covering multiple destinations.
How do I know if my phone supports eSIM?
Check if your mobile phone is listed on our eSIM-supported devices page spanning the latest iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel and other Android models. You can also check your phone settings for an eSIM option. If your phone is unlocked and purchased outright, it likely supports eSIM activation.
For iPhone, go to Settings > General > About and scroll down to Available SIM (iOS 15 or later) or Digital SIM (earlier iOS versions). If your phone supports eSIMs, it will show a 15-digit IMEI number.
For Android, go to Settings and type in IMEI in the search bar. Tap on IMEI information and look for IMEI (eSIM). If it is available, it means your device supports eSIM.
Please ensure that your mobile phone is carrier unlocked. This means that your device is not tied to a mobile carrier and another carrier’s SIM will work on your phone. If you bought your device outright, without any mobile service agreements, then your device is likely unlocked. If you are not sure we recommend calling your carrier to check.
Can I use a Travel eSIM and a physical SIM card at the same time?
Yes, dual SIM functionality on modern smartphones allows using both a nano physical SIM from your home carrier alongside a digital eSIM data plan when traveling. You can switch between the two lines for data/calling as needed.
